Samsung will provide 740,000 Galaxy XCover Pro devices to Walmart Inc. WMT, -0.67% associates that can be used both for work and during their downtime. The device has been customized to meet the demands of Walmart associates during work hours, eliminating the need for the multiple devices that associates previously carried, from walkie-talkies to scanners. The device also comes with a set of tools that allows associates to create a separate profile for private use. "We wanted our associates to use this device all day to serve customers, but then also use it as their personal device if they chose," said Kellie Romack, Walmart's vice president for associate experience and customer care, in a statement. Walmart stock has slipped 1.6% for the year to date while the Dow Jones Industrial Average DJIA, -0.36% has gained 13.6% for the period.
