Samsung is gearing-up for an affordable device launch in India on Monday (April 5), as already confirmed in official teasers. We expect to see two new phones as part of the release - the Galaxy F02s and the Galaxy F12. It's hardly a secret that F-series devices are typically just rebranded M-series ones. Hence, for details on the F02s, you can check out the corresponding Galaxy M02s and the Galaxy F12 should match the Galaxy M12 respectively.
We were already pretty certain that this would be the case, but a now-removed GeekBench listing, as well as an official Samsung support page now definitively prove that the F12 and M12 are essentially the same phone. Let's start with the support page listing, since it is the simpler proof. Said page is for the SM-F127G/DS, but if you follow the user manual download link on it, you get a file that also lists the SM-M127F and SM-M127G device numbers.

The GeekBench listing for a Samsung SM-F127G offers even further proof that the two devices are identical. Namely, the Exynos 850 chipset and 4GB of RAM, on the particular unit being tested. If the Galaxy F12 borrows the entire memory option list from the M12, then it might also be offered with 3GB and 6GB of RAM, with anywhere from 32GB to 128GB of expandable storage. Memory configurations, however, are one of the few actual differences that could be in place between the F12 and M12.
Beyond that, the Galaxy F12 packs a 6.5-inch, HD+, 90Hz PLS IPS display and a nifty quad camera setup, with Samsung's 48MP ISOCELL GM2 sensor – a 1/2.25” sensor with 0.8 µm pixels and Tetracell tech (Samsung’s take on Quad Bayer) and Super-PD autofocus at the helm. A 6,000 mAh battery powers the show and in no particular order a 3.5mm audio jack and side-mounted fingerprint reader are also thrown into the mix.
