Five people were shot, one of them killed, during an exchange of gunfire New Year’s Eve inside a southeast San Antonio mobile home park that started with a dispute over a stolen cell phone.

Six men, all between the ages of 18 and 21, were involved in the shooting that took place just before 11 p.m. Thursday at the park off of Southcross Ranch Road.

Three men at a mobile home were shot and are all now listed as being in stable condition, according to preliminary information released Friday by San Antonio Police Department officials.

The three other men, listed by SAPD as suspects, fled from the location in a vehicle after exchanging gunfire.

SAPD officers were called to a second scene in the 3900 block of Roland, after receiving a call for a shooting victim, according to preliminary information.

Once there, officers found the vehicle that had taken off from the shootout along with two people suffering from gunshot wounds.

One of the men, an 18-year-old suspect, had been shot twice in the abdomen and died.

A second suspect, a 21-year-old man, had been shot in the shoulder and is now listed as being in stable condition.

A third suspect, a 19-year-old man, was not hurt, according to SAPD.

An official with the Bexar County Medical Examiner’s Office said Friday they could not yet release the name of the man killed.

SAPD officials as of Friday afternoon had not made any arrests in the case.

A car parked in front of a mobile home near Brenden Drive and Byston Avenue showed signs of being hit by gunfire and the mobile home had multiple bullet holes in its front wall.

Neighbors living on either side of the mobile home did not answer the door Friday morning.
